Onslow Memorial Hospital Enhances Patient Care with New Beds

February 05, 2024

Onslow Memorial Hospital has enhanced patient care and experience by upgrading patient beds across the entire facility. In September, the hospital hosted a vendor fair where teammates and patients observed demonstrations of different bed models. The feedback provided was used to identify the beds that best met the dynamic needs of both the patient and the care team.

Patients and teammates valued the integration of the nurse call system, along with the versatility, functionality, and safety features offered by the SaveView®+ System. These features enhance safety measures such as fall prevention.

“We have a responsibility to ensure that we have the products and equipment that support the highest level of comfort, safety, and quality for the entire care team, including the patient. We are grateful for the careful way our team approached the selection process for our new beds," said Dr. Penney Burlingame-Deal, CEO.

Key features of the new beds include:

  • Patient Comfort: The beds are designed with patient comfort in mind, featuring adjustable settings to accommodate individual preferences and promote a restful recovery environment.
  • Technological Innovation: Incorporating the latest in healthcare technology, the beds come equipped with monitoring systems and connectivity options, allowing healthcare providers to monitor patient health and well-being.
  • Enhanced Safety Measures: The beds are equipped with advanced safety features to ensure the well-being of patients, including fall prevention mechanisms and easy-to-use controls for both patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Durability and Sustainability: Onslow Memorial Hospital is committed to sustainability, and the new beds are designed to be durable, reducing the environmental impact associated with frequent replacements.

The new beds were deployed throughout the hospital in December. Teammates across all departments have received training on the new features.
