Our 41-bed Emergency Department has a Level 1 Rapid Infuser and 2 fully inclusive resuscitation rooms. We treat patients with anything from the common cold to cardiac arrest. Work with a dynamic team of Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, RNs, LPNs PCTs, and Clinical Secretaries.

  • 30-bed Well Baby Nursery to include 4 level II beds and 4 level III beds

IMCU is a 37-bed acute care unit. Diagnoses include: Stroke, Sepsis, Diabetes, Heart Failure, COPD, Renal Failure, etc. Additional skills include: stable vent management, hemodynamic drip titration, arterial blood gas collection, elective cardioversion, peritoneal dialysis, and much more!

Our 12-bed ICU is staffed with a team of RNs, PCTs, Unit Secretaries, and Providers. The ICU staff are house-wide code Responders and part of the Rapid Response Team. Our patient population includes but is not limited to: Renal Failure, Shock, Overdose, ETOH Withdrawal, Pulmonary Edema, Sepsis, Acute Renal Failure, Acute OB for stabilization and post-surgical patients needing critical intervention.

The Cath Lab works collaboratively with nursing, medical staff, and members of the health care team to provide care for cardiovascular patients. Contribute your medical skills and insight to provide quality care for our community.

Assist in all aspects of interventional invasive surgical procedures: Arterial and Venous Angioplasty, Vena Cava Filter Placements, Vascular and Non-vascular Stent Placement, Angiojet Procedure, Dialysis Catheter Placement, Intra Aortic Balloon Pump Insertion, Percutaneous Pain Intervention, Joint Injections, PICC Line Placement, Temporary Pacemaker Placement, Hemodynamic Monitoring, Mild Dissectomy and Kyphoplasty Procedures, and other specialty procedures.

You will chose a minimum of two distinct units to float between. This position gives you the option to experience all areas of nursing! Candidate must have two years of relevant hospital experience to be qualified.

Surgical Services is a team-based entity with emphasis on delivering patient satisfaction and patient safety. All of our areas work together to ensure patients have a positive experience during their stay at Onslow Memorial Hospital. We put the latest surgical technology and equipment in the hands of board-certified surgeons and experienced nurses.

The Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) is a 9-bed unit which provides pre and post care to our surgery patients. Our goal is to properly prepare and recover surgical patients so they may be safely discharged home. We match our surgical expertise with exceptional patient care to enhance your recovery.

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is a highly-skilled 8-bay unit. Patients are transported immediately after surgery to PACU to be monitored on a 1 nurse to 2 patient ratio. We manage patient airways, pain levels, vital signs, and all other post-surgical needs before transporting the patient back to ASU or one of our nursing units for continued observation.

The Endoscopy Unit (EU) consists of 3 procedure rooms with 8 pre and post care bays. EU provides robust services such as colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs, and bronchoscopies. We provide anesthesia services for monitored anesthesia care to provide positive outcomes for their patients.

The Operating Room (OR) has 4 operating suites and 1 cystoscopy room. Our team provides a wide range of services to include General, GYN, Ortho, ENT, Spine, and Plastics. Our highly skilled nurses and techs provide exceptional care during surgery. We provide strict adherence to sterile techniques to reduce surgical site infections.

CNAI & CNAII Careers

We hire CNAI and CNAII to work as Patient Care Technicians (PCT) on our 37-bed IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit). You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of Nurses, Providers, Unit Secretaries, and additional ancillary staff. Our IMCU cares for a variety of patients such as COPD, A Fib, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Diabetes, and CHF. PCT's assist with blood draws, specimen collection, urinary catheters, sterile dressing changes, vital signs, and more!

To be eligible you must be registered as a CNAI on the NCNAR registry.

We hire CNAI and CNAII to work as Patient Care Technicians (PCT) on our 12-bed ICU. Our PCT's assist with specimen collection, wall suction, traction setup, vital signs, code cart, and more!

To be eligible you must be registered as a CNAI on the NCNAR registry.

We hire CNAI and CNAII to work as Patient Care Technicians (PCT) on our 42-bed Med-Surg Telemetry Unit. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of Nurses, Providers, Unit Secretaries, and additional ancillary staff. Our 4th floor cares for a variety of patients such as COPD, Asthma, Gallbladder, Joint Replacement, Cellulitis, Appendix, Diabetes, Pneumonia, and Chest Pain. PCT's assist with blood draws, specimen collection, foley catheters, sterile dressing changes, vital signs, and more!

To be eligible you must be registered as a CNAI on the NCNAR registry.

We hire CNAI and CNAII to work on our Women's and Children's Unit. Women's and Children's consists of our Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Post-Partum, and Pediatrics. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of Nurses, Providers, Unit Secretaries, and additional ancillary staff. Our CNA's assist with specimen collection, urinary catheters, set-up for delivery, vital signs, wound care, O2 setup, bottle feeding, hearing screens, and more!

To be eligible you must be registered as a CNAI on the NCNAR registry.

We hire CNAII's to work as Patient Care Technicians (PCT) in our 41-bed Emergency Department. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of Nurses, Physicians, Mid-Level Providers, Clinical Secretaries, and additional ancillary staff. Our Emergency Department cares for patients of all ages. PCT's perform EKGs, Lab Draws, specimen collection, splinting, sterile field set-ups, vital signs, foley catheters, and more!

To be eligible you must be registered as a CNAI on the NCNAR registry and a CNAII on the NCBON. Both must be active and in good standing.

New Graduate Nurse Opportunities

Nurse Resident Program

  • 10-week program
  • Program runs monthly beginning the 3rd week of each month
  • Must have completed an ADN or BSN program
  • Must have a valid Nursing License with NC or a Multistate License. NC Emergency Graduate Permit also accepted.
  • Up to 12-weeks of unit specific orientation once the program has concluded
  • 2-year commitment

Rotate through 5 nursing areas to include:

  • Med-Surg Telemetry
  • IMCU
  • ICU
  • Women's and Children's
  • Emergency Department

You will be assigned to a unit at the end of the program based on your top 3 areas of interest and the needs of the organization. Units include: IMCU, Med Surg Telemetry, L&D, Nursery, Maternal Child, Telemetry, ICU, and Emergency Department. RN's work three 12-hour shifts per week to include a weekend, holiday, and call rotation.
