Elsa’s Health Update

Welcome to A Dose of Paw-sitivity with Elsa. Elsa and her handler, Gail, spend their days visiting patients, teammates, and clinics throughout Onslow Memorial Hospital, sharing comfort, smiles, and plenty of tail wags. Through her visits across the hospital and outpatient clinics, Elsa’s mission is simple, bring a little extra joy and encouragement to everyone she meets while spreading paw-sitivity throughout Onslow Memorial Hospital.

Hello, my friends,

I wanted to share a little update on my health!

I’m so happy to tell you that I’m feeling much better these days. All those vet visits I mentioned before? Well, Mom says I have something called EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency). It just means I have to add special stuff to my food, and this is the hard part: wait 30 whole minutes for a very dramatic Alexa alarm to go off before I can eat. (Honestly… the waiting is the worst part.)

But guess what? I’ve already gained almost 6 pounds!

Friday = My Favorite Day

Tomorrow is Friday, my favorite day of the week! That’s when I get to visit so many of our special OMH offices.

We make our rounds to places like OPA, OWC, IMPC, ENT, OSC, and CCD… so many letters, I know! Mom says it’s like “speed dating,” whatever that means. All I know is we try to visit 8 different sites before noon, saying hello to as many teammates and patients as we can.

If you can name all those abbreviations… you might just earn a smooch and a handshake from me the next time I see you!

One Little Reminder

I can only have tiny snacks during my visits now… and you know who you are who like to sneak me treats.

Thank you all for checking on me and for always making my visits so special. I can’t wait to see you soon!

With love,

Queen Elsa
