The Auxiliary is seeking new members who can commit to serving at least four hours per week. As a member of this elite group of volunteers, you will also have an opportunity to participate in fundraising and social events throughout the year, and much more.
If you wish to apply:
Anyone wishing to volunteer in any department other than the Emergency Department, visit the hospital lobby to obtain a printed application form and complete it in person OR fill out an online version of the form by clicking here.
Anyone wishing to volunteer in the Emergency Department ("ED"), must complete the online application form located here.
Once your application is reviewed, the Auxiliary's membership chair will schedule an appointment to meet with you at the hospital to discuss our program as well as to get to know you. This will help us to determine where best to use your skill for the benefit of all. Requirements after this appointment will include a background check, blood test, PPD (TB) test, and orientation to our hospital to include the rules that guide us to ensure patient privacy and overall good care. All of this will be organized and paid for by the hospital. The Health Nurse will require proof that you have received certain immunizations (mumps, rubella, etc.).
Adult volunteers are currently needed for the following positions. Your interview will help us and you to choose a shift and position that best suits you and your schedule:
Emergency Department
Emergency Department ("ED") volunteers have the ability to enhance patients and visitors experience in the ED setting. As a volunteer, you are able to gain valuable experiences working closely with ED staff and assisting with non-medical patient care. In addition to gaining personal experiences the volunteer has the satisfaction of helping out a diverse community and giving back. Volunteering in the ED will increase confidence in a medical environment and provide vital experience for future medical professionals.

The Auxiliary is always looking for additional ways to serve. In addition to the above areas, we often need occasional volunteers who are available to assist with a short term project. Virtual volunteers may use their skills in crocheting or knitting hats for our babies and cancer patients; lap quilts or prayer shawls. Some virtual volunteers serve as an advisory committee for The Gift Shop while others work on favors for patient’s meal trays. Some volunteers serve on committees to review and select candidates for scholarship awards.
