Your Spirit of Giving shines every day

Your Spirit of Giving shines every day

As I make my daily rounds throughout the hospital, I am always inspired by the compassion I see for our patients, our community, and each other. Throughout November and December, our staff has coordinated food, clothing, toy, and blood drives to help others in need.

I can honestly say that this spirit of giving is not isolated to this time of year. I see unselfish acts every day. Sometimes it is the staff member who clocks out and then sits with a cancer patient in the final hours to hold their hand so they won't feel lonely. Sometimes it is the physician who anonymously donates dinners to patients struggling to make ends meet. Sometimes it is the employee who buys new sneakers for a special needs girl. Sometimes it is a hug for a coworker who just lost a parent.

There are so many untold stories. I know that this does not even begin to tell the heart of the organization. It is this compassion for all that we do that defines where we've been, where we are, and where we are going in the years ahead. I am so proud of you, my OMH family, for your unconditional love during this holiday season ... and all year long.

Wishing all of you a peaceful holiday, and a Happy New Year.

Sincerely,

Penney Burlingame Deal, DHA
