Radiation Oncology

Shortening the road to recovery

It’s a new, promising day for those in Onslow County who are battling cancer. Onslow Radiation Oncology, conveniently located on the Onslow Memorial Hospital campus, is now filled with the best people and technology and is ready to help. Better still, it’s local. This means fewer drives to distant locations. Less time at hotels. Less money spent on gas, less time off work, and fewer hassles all around. Because frankly, being sick with cancer is challenging enough.

"Care as good as what is available at any medical center in the state" - Dr. Julian Roseman

Because Onslow Radiation Oncology is a partnership between two top healthcare providers who are committed to delivering the best local care, Onslow Memorial Hospital and Vidant Medical Center, you’ll find no better care in the state.

At the heart of Onslow Radiation Oncology is a state-of-the-art linear accelerator which provides multiple varieties of therapy, precisely directed to the area where it’s needed. To further ensure accuracy, the center also houses a high-speed CT simulator, which allows for optimal treatment planning and delivery. Mobile PET/CT scanning is also used, offering the most thorough level of cancer detection and treatment coordination.

The latest technology, however, cannot replace the power of experienced, dedicated, caring people - and this is what you’ll find here. Our staff members see themselves as healers first, technologists second, and always as collaborative partners with your primary physician and oncologist.

In October, 2012, Onslow Memorial celebrated the indomitable human spirit — the “Survivor Spirit” — by sharing stories from four inspiring women. By enduring and surviving one of the most difficult challenges a person can face, they offer the rest of us a great life lesson: that love, faith and courage can lift hope to a level that overcomes the cold realities of a vicious disease.
