Expert Tip of the Week: Websites can help in weight loss

With the Lighten Up Onslow weight loss challenge at the halfway point, Tim Strickland reminds participants there may be benefits in revisiting Onslow Memorial Hospital’s website devoted to the challenge as well as checking out other online sites offering guidance and support for those trying to slim down and get healthy.
“We wanted participants to have one location they could access information on diet, weight loss tips, exercise and recipes,” said Strickland, the spokesman for the hospital.
There was a huge spike in Lighten Up Onslow web site traffic when the hospital challenge began May 23, Strickland said, but after about a month the numbers tapered off.
